In the past months we had the pleasure of working in projects that have been implementing souvereign data storage solutions for various customers. Mainly public organizations are moving away from MS365 and try to at least have a souvereign back up for data and office applications.
One very popular choice for file sharing is Nextcloud - unfortunately, in a lot of cases integrations from other systems are missing into this platform. For the Webmail System HCL Verse, we now have completed such an integration.
We have built a solution, that covers two use cases - upload from attachments in emails into the Nextcloud File Storage and a way to send attachment links as (public) links to nextcloud from within nextcloud.
Security is handeled in two ways - if HCL Domino and Nextcloud share the same OIDC provider for authentication, OIDC tokens are used to authenticate. If this is not the case, the user can configure credentials to a nextcloud account from within HCL Verse. The credentials are saved encrypted in the respective mail database on HCL Domino.
How does that look like? Here are some Screenshots:

These are the first two basic extensions to seamlessly integrate HCL Verse and Nextcloud Files. More to come soon - we are looking into integrations for Nextcloud Talk for Web Conferencing and Chat. Stay tuned.
